Default Credit card information removal - I need some advice

I hope I am posting in the correct area.

But desperately needing some help. I have recently installed the payment gateway, eWay - which is Australian based.
I have my own secure cert installed. And i use their xml based gateway option.

Do I need to tick any options under the heading "Credit card information removal" in the store admin? It's all ready to go, but I want to make sure that I have all the necessary security procedures in place.

I am using version 4.1.8 of xcart.

I would so much appreciate any help.

Cheers, Paula

The x-cart settings you are referring to are for clearing already existing credit cards. To prevent x-cart from storing credit card information, open x-cart's config.php file:

Find:

$store_cc = true;

Change to:

$store_cc = false;
